The emphasis at Religious Witness events is upon
raising consciousness through public participation.

At the local level we organize nonviolent dramatic rallies, vigils and interfaith services to promote our basic goals. These events draw hundreds of people and extensive media attention. We utilize dramatic ritual, outdoor theatre, liturgical dance, soulful singing and inspiring words ... or sometimes the sublime power of silence. It is through these events, as well as through various educational programs, that we seek to raise the consciousness of the broader community as to the social injustice of homelessness, realizing that this heightened awareness of the people is the prerequisite to their direct involvement in bringing about social change.

In the spirit of St. Francis, we demonstrate against
Care Not Cash and the War on Iraq.

Religious Witness endeavors to remind all of us that
the bounty of the earth must be shared with all people

Music often plays a central role in Religious Witness' events.

Sometimes we choose to emphasize the solemnity and sacredness of being a silent witness.
